Finish With Linens - Turn an Ordinary Reception Hall Into Something Extraordinary
By Kristen Castillo

Wait, you’re telling me the linens aren’t included? Sadly enough, this is the response of many brides who are unaware of the extra costs that come with having chair covers and linens at the reception of their wedding. However, although many brides aren’t aware of the extra costs, many still choose to rent these items for their reception because of the aesthetic appeal they can add to a room. Incorporating chair covers and other linens can turn an ordinary drab ballroom into something that is fab!

If you are trying to keep your wedding on a budget, there are a few things you can do to get the most out of your expenses. Choose essentials first. Floor length linens are a must for a finished look if a bride is unable to work chair covers into her budget. But, keep in mind, chair covers make the biggest impact for a reception site.

Brides may chose to go with a chair cover that doesn’t require sashes to save cost -- the Panne chair cover is a great value. This chair cover looks great without a sash if you just want to cover an unattractive chair and give the ballroom a wedding ambiance.

For those who have a little bit more money to spend, one can really spice up the entire theme of the reception with a few more details. One of them is sashes -- different sash colors can really bring the theme of the bride’s colors together.

For fabric, there are many options to choose from, but satin, poly-blend fabrics are a little higher end and therefore more coveted to work with. Besides sashes and chair covers, there are a lot of other ways to incorporate a finished look into your reception area.

* Try covering the columns in white organza.

* Decorate the back of the chairs with flowers added to each sash.

* Incorporate a party favor attached to the back of each chair.

* Have a bigger arrangement for the head table.

* Decorate the head table with white lights.

* Decorate the sweetheart table with added touches, such as different linens or extra flowers.

* If you are stuck with unsightly walls in your reception location, try draping a simple fabric over the area to make it all look coordinated.

There are many things you can do to make your reception area personalized, unique and classic to match the theme of your wedding. Ask your party rental coordinator or linen specialist for ideas on how to enhance your space within your budget and see what kind of ideas you can brainstorm together.
